LATi – Loughborough Advanced Technology and Innovation – was founded in 1996.  Its primary aim was to promote growth and innovation within the Loughborough high technology industry sector and to attract investment to the area to support this.

Over the years these aims and objectives have been expanded and LATI has evolved into a sustainable and influential networking organisation and pressure group.

LATi Visit to Trelleborg IAVS factory 1LATi goes beyond Loughborough
Though LATi’s roots are set deep in Loughborough, the networking organisation for scientists, technologists and engineers reaches across the entire East Midlands, including Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland.

We’re proud of our connection with Loughborough, and keen to do our bit in placing Loughborough on the map as one of the most vibrant and innovative technology hubs in the UK. Looking at the thriving technology community in the region, we believe Loughborough is at the very centre of innovation in the UK.

LATi’s aim is therefore to promote the high tech, scientific and engineering businesses in not only Loughborough, but across the entire East Midlands region, to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing, and to boost the local economy. Our membership includes companies from across Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Rutland and even further afield. Anyone who works in tech, science and engineering in the UK (as well as businesses and organisations that support the sector) are welcome to join LATi.

Links with local East Midlands Universities
LATI has enjoyed many significant achievements including being a key driver in the opening of the Loughborough Innovation Centre.  LATI has a long standing relationship with Loughborough University. We are also building close links with other local universities, including University of Leicester, De Montfort University and Nottingham Trent University.
