- About Us
LATI is managed by a Board and a Management Action Group who’s members come from local businesses, universities and business support organisations.
The Board meets up to four times a year to discuss LATI’s future events programme and members support projects.
LATi holds around twenty events a year, most of which are held in Loughborough, Leicester and Nottingham. We organise visits to technology, science and engineering businesses across the East Midlands region: Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
LATI is a not-for-profit organisation dependent on sponsors and membership fees. We are supported and sponsored by Nottingham Trent University and by Charnwood Borough Council, and supported by Loughborough University.
NTU Collaboration Agreement
In 2015, LATi and Nottingham Trent University formed a collaborative partnership designed to encourage collaboration between LATi members and NTU staff, students and business partners. By working together, we hope to further develop mutually beneficial partnerships with local companies with the ultimate aim of supporting and growing the local economy.
John Duncan, Chairman of LATi, said: “We’re really excited in linking up with NTU to help them deliver their focussed services to small companies in both Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. NTU has many excellent schemes for high tech SMEs, which form the backbone of LATI’s membership. Between us we can achieve greater dissemination to industry and grow LATi’s membership at the same time.”
NTU Project Manager Pat Needham said: “This collaboration provides a fantastic opportunity for us to bring our expertise in science, technology, product design and business to the attention of this community, and apply our resources to help them innovate and grow their businesses.”
One of the ways NTU and LATi will work together is to join forces to deliver events on a range of science and technology business related topics.
