LATi Privacy Notice/ Statement

There is a lot of confusion surrounding GDPR and how organisations such as LATi make contact with members and other potentially interested parties.  

Regarding the e-mailed newsletters, meeting notices, etc. that we send out, we are operating under lawful purposes Contract and Legitimate Interest.  This means that we do not need your consent and we will not pester you to “opt-in”.  However, you do have rights under the GDPR, including the right to object to us holding and processing your data.

This organisation is primarily a networking and referral organisation, we collect limited personal data (contact details) for purposes of running our organisation, and for members to pass each other referrals of business opportunities and best practice within the industry. Occasionally we may contact your company about our events and could use your personal contact details for this purpose. We do not pass your details on to any third parties for their use and we store personal data on a mixture of our own systems and a cloud based CRM here in the UK, we have a backup of this data stored securely by a member of The Board of Directors.  Data is only held while we process business activity between us, we delete it after 7 years of inactivity.

You have the right to see what we hold about you and to make sure we have the right data on you. You can take the data away with you, have it deleted or request it to be rectified at any time. By joining us either through membership fees or attending an event you are agreeing to this use of your personal data, we can assure you that the confidentiality and security of this data is of paramount importance to us. We sometimes use photographs to promote ourselves and our members, if you don’t want your photo being used in this manner, then you can opt out at any time.
