Chris Harris of the STEMLab is to host a lunchtime visit and tour of the brand new and rather impressive STEMLab at Loughborough University, and insight into how enterprise can benefit from the facility.
STEMLab is a £17 million investment in new state-of-the-art facilities and part of a wider £25 million investment in the west side of Loughborough University campus. Having opened in 2017, STEMLab contains new engineering, physics, chemistry and bio laboratories.
It allows the university to offer new facilities previously unavailable, such as a ‘drop-in’ engineering workshop, alongside a range of modern laboratories and teaching spaces. These enhanced facilities enables the university to expand its teaching provision in STEM subjects broadening the vital role played in supplying skilled graduates to industry in the future.
STEMLab has been designed to offer new ways to learn and collaborate, but will mainly be used by the following academic schools and departments within the University:
