“A Wealth of Opportunity” is an informal networking event to be held as part of Leicester Business Festival at the Organ Grinder in Loughborough on Thursday the 7th of November where you can talk to a number of key business support organisations.
This event, organised by LATi in partnership with inCharnwood, is open to all businesses – from SMEs to larger enterprises.
It will be particularly valuable for those who are searching for new sources of funding, are looking to expand their businesses, or wish to set up business in the region, as well as heads and senior decision makers of high-tech and scientific businesses including:

Funding experts experienced in working with Life Sciences, Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering and High-Tech will be attending and speaking at this networking event.

Sam Stephens of TBAT Innovation will provide an update on funding from Innovate UK and HMRC R&D Tax Credits.
Sam started his career at Rolls-Royce Aerospace as a graduate and manufacturing engineer before moving across to Rolls Royce and Associates as a Development and Project Engineer. Four great years designing and implementing repairs to the UK’s nuclear submarine fleet delivered a wealth of engineering and an appreciation of real-life deployments of new technology in demanding environments. Three years project management of gas turbine development and test at Alstom further expanded his skill set and knowledge.
Now, Sam heads up Business Development and R&D Tax Credits at TBAT.
Jeff Mallows, Senior Business Advisor at innovate2succeed will talk about the innovate2succeed programme and how it can help you nurture innovation more effectively, rapidly commercialise concepts, and grow your bottom line,
During an engineering career of almost 30 years, Jeff worked for manufacturing companies in sectors ranging from consumer products to scientific instruments, and has led the development of a number of product innovations from concept through to production on national and international projects.
Jeff possesses both technical and business qualifications including an MBA and also holds vocational qualifications in Engineering Management, Project Management and Lean Six Sigma.
Victoria Patel – Project Leader- Innovation at Medilink East Midlands will cover the support available under the ERDF-funded SOLSTICE programme for Life Science companies in Leicester and Leicestershire.
Victoria has extensive experience delivering business support to Leicestershire businesses and also has hands-on experience of growing a successful, innovative business. Roles at the Business Gateway Growth Hub and the Leicester and Leicestershire Local Enterprise Partnership have given Victoria a strong local network and she is now the main contact for SoLSTICE at Medilink East Midlands.
Shannon Stodd, Innovation Fellow for Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering, will highlight the opportunity to identify and overcome your business challenges.
