We help small business grow, using years of hard-won experience to guide ambitious technology ventures to success.
A favourite quote from Douglas Adams is “A learning experience is one of those things that says, ‘You know that thing you just did? Don’t do that.’ ” In some ways, that’s exactly what we offer – knowledge from the experience of what works, and what doesn’t. We’ve done it before – with years starting and leading small, high-tech businesses, we’ve defined strategies, opened new markets, driven sales growth worldwide, and raised over $100M in investment and grant funding. That hard-won experience is invaluable for a new business.
Much of what we do is investment readiness – helping write strategies and business plans, identifying target investors, and securing that early investment. In addition, we lead early sales, building essential customer traction – validating that your new venture is viable. And, we can help with all the infrastructure stuff – dealing with banks, HMRC, and of course the R&D tax credit.
We offer a half-day free consultancy session to assess business plans and give initial advice. There’s no commitment from either side, but there’s often a lot of value in talking through plans and ideas with a team which has done it before.
Assignments generally have an agreed scope – such as a project to implement a new business plan, or acting as interim CEO or Sales Director until a permanent hire can be made; although we welcome more open-ended engagements, providing ongoing support as a part-time executive or in a non-executive capacity.
